The hours of operation are 9 am-7 pm. It’s a great place that families can come to and enjoy themselves when it gets really hot without having to pay the high prices of normal water parks. The splash pad is completely free to use.

The park is also home to the area skate park. It’s not uncommon to see young kids, teenagers, and young adults utilizing the features of the skate park. The skate park is open from sun up to sun down every day of the week. Outside of skateboards and rollerblades kids also ride their scooters at the skatepark.

One of the main draws of Matthews Park is the fishing pond. It is a catch-and-release pond so it stays well stocked and the fishing is always good. The Arkansas Game and Fish regulate the pond and its fish population so there is always a wide variety of fish. It’s a great place to relax and have fun or even to learn to fish. The pond is accessible from all angles so fishing is easy.
